Over the past 24 hours North Carolina Department of Transportation has initiated the anti-icing protocols on major roads to help fight the predicted 2″- 4″ inches of snow that is suppose to hit North Carolina over the next two days.
Power companies are worried that if we reach 1/4″ of ice, power outages will be expected to happen and are urging citizens to make sure they have flash lights handy with fresh batteries in case of any outages that may occur over the next 48 hours. Also that you have plenty of water safe guarded as well.
We’re receiving reports on snow and freezing rain accumulating in Four Oaks, Smithfield, and surrounding areas.
